Sunshine and showers, breezy,
cooler. Set off back to Burgwall at 10.30 am to be sure of getting a mooring
place. We stopped at the upstream end of the moorings and Snail went to get
their water tanks refilled. Swopped places and we refilled our tank. Chatted
with a young couple that had a young baby and were on holiday on a 14m long DB,
owned by his Dad. They both spoke excellent
English and were very interested in the Snail’s story. They told us that the
rules in Germany had changed two years ago and now anyone could take any sort
of boat on the water for free as long as it was less than 15m long and the
engine less than 15ps. We moved back to the other end of the moorings next to Snail,
discovered we couldn’t get TV and singled out again – still couldn’t get TV. A
cruiser moored behind us so we couldn’t go any further back to try and clear
the trees. Gave up and Mike said he would put the dish on the stern later.
After lunch he took Anne and Oll to get some shopping and diesel in Zehdenick.
When they came back Mike said the proprietor of the Gästhaus wanted us to move
closer to the pub and to moor side-by-side so more boats could moor. Fine, we
needed to move back to get the TV anyway. Later we went to have a meal in the
Zur Fähre with the Snails. We heard that the WSA were on strike again the
following day so we might not be able to move, well not through any locks.
